TILMAN'S TICKER

A ticker is a space dedicated to headlines or minor pieces of news (Wikipedia). Inspired by the Volunteer Ticker (viewable only for volunteers) of the Hospitality Club and by the status fields of Facebook, MSN, etc., I established a ticker for myself because this is a quick and easy way for ALL my friends to see what I am doing at the moment (even if you are not in Facebook).

I'll write brief and to-the-point entries whenever I think of it. The newest entry is always on top. If you, after reading the most recent entries, still don't know what I am doing, check out My Calendar - and don't hesitate to ask me directly! :-)

Back in Helsinki, leaving to Mikkeli for one night in 15 minutes. Coming back to Helsinki tomorrow. Then, in a few days, going to St.Petersburg for the rest of the month to learn Russian :-)

Ohlala... I finished my last course ever in Mikkeli last Friday, organized a farewell party, flew to Frankfurt, met tiuts and Relika, had a great football final party in Bad Homburg, Spain won the European championship, and and and... Now I am spending a few days in Frankfurt until Thursday. Then going via Helsinki to St.Petersburg for July. Sad that my Mikkeli time is over now. On the other hand, happy to have a new set of challenges before me.

Now going to my first LGV (or HGV or truck or however you call it) license lecture :-) In a few weeks, I will be allowed to drive biiiiig trucks :-D But this certainly doesn't reduce the currently huge workload for university :-S

Pancake Party last week was great! :-) Found many new friends from the BScBA7s and have been seeing them since then. Already planning to hold another pancake party soon :-D This weekend, three wonderful Hospitality Club members from Russia visited me. We went to Sahanlahti and enjoyed a beautiful wooden sauna at a beautiful lake in the middle of beautiful Finnish nature :) Now, continuing to work on the thousand essays for the Entrepreneurship course...

It's a Sunday but still a full-time working day for me. Working on reading assignments (which I will later put also to the course page). But now, lunch time :-) Will probably meet also Anna after a long time again =)

Now leaving by car to Mikkeli from Helsinki. Tomorrow proficiency test and thesis presentation! Wish me luck... Coming then right back to Helsinki to finalize the actual thesis (over 50 pages) so that it is in its final form by May 15... Still a looooot of work.

Back in Helsinki since Tuesday. Frankfurt: the Così fan tutte opera, friends and family, and the Wilhelm Busch exhibition in the Holzhausenschlösschen, which I didn't mention before in this ticker because I didn't have the time, were all nice distractions from the thesis. Nonetheless, I managed to advance it quite a bit in Frankfurt, as I had my laptop and a few books with me. Now again working 24/7 on my thesis...

Now working on my thesis in Frankfurt. Celebrating Easter tomorrow with grandparents and probably meeting up with some friends. Flying back to Helsinki on Tuesday evening.

Working on my Thesis today, expecting some friends tonight for a nice gathering, and going tomorrow to Joensuu for the weekend to the funeral of my grandmother's sister. Will visit Mikkeli (and maybe other places) on the way by car.
