Tilman's Hospitality Club (HC) Pages

I have been a member of the Hospitality Club now for some years now and it has become an important part of my life. I love it so much - and I believe everybody should have the chance to know it - so I use every chance to tell people about it, to advertise it, and to use it my self as much as possible. The idea of my HC Pages is to inform, clarify, and persuade (in a positive way). Honestly, The Hospitality Club REALLY is great!

But what is the Hospitality Club actually?

The Hospitality Club is a club in the internet, which anybody can join for free. Signing up is easy and can be done without any hassles on the site in just a few minutes. (You then only have to wait some time so that your membership application is approved by a volunteer in order to make sure that you provided your name and address correctly.) There are already over 320.000 members worldwide, which means that you find somebody in almost any city or town! You can contact a member and ask him/her for free accommodation, for a cup of coffee, or for a tour around the city. This way, you learn much more about the local culture of that place than if you would stay in a hotel and run from sight to sight only to pose on a photo in front of it. Moreover, it is a lot of fun to meet friendly people all over the world! But don't be scared: As a member you don't have any obligations: You don't have to pay anything and you are not obliged to let someone into your home if you don't want to. Actually, you can select "Accommodation: No, please don't ask" in your profile.

The idea of the Hospitality Club is to enable face-to-face meetings of people from different countries. When people from different cultures meet and become friends, they learn about each other, which in turn fosters worldwide peace. Proof: (1) Conflicts on the intercultural scene arise when there is no intercultural understanding. (2) Intercultural understanding requires intercultural communication competence. (3) Intercultural communication competence must be practiced. (4) The Hospitality Club fosters the practice of intercultural communication competence. (5) Thus, the Hospitality Club fosters peace building. Read here the full paper.

I would like to thank Veit Kühne, the founder of The Hospitality Club, with all my heart for making an online hospitality exchange network reality. I would like to thank all the thousands of friendly individuals who open their hearts to strangers. Without these kind people such a network would not be possible. And last but not least, I would like to thank all Volunteers of The Hospitality Club who operate and administer the club. Without you, nothing would work.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions! I will be more than happy to personally tell you about The Hospitality Club.

And now, please enjoy my HC Pages :)

Oh by the way, my username in the club is tilman
